On 7 February, radiotherapy in stereotactic conditions was inaugurated, a first in the Oise department.
This evolution will allow patients to receive treatment close to their home and avoid travelling to the Paris region or the Amiens hospital. Radiotherapy in stereotactic conditions is a very high-precision irradiation technique, which treats with great efficiency small lung cancers and metastases (brain, lung, bone) in a few sessions, often 3 to 5 and less than 15 days, with few side effects.
Implementation of this technique was made possible by a modernised medical project carried out by the new medical team and the centre’s management. This project combines investment in equipment with a new accelerator, a latest-generation repositioning system, and above all, extraordinary human investment.
