Within the Groupe Hospitalier Public du Sud de l’Oise (GHPSO) at 67 boulevard Laënnec in Creil, the radiotherapy centre created by doctors Michel Ciupa and Daniel Gay opened in 2001.
After the acquisition of the centre by the Amethyst radiotherapy group in the second half of 2014 very quickly, the management team wished to modernise the hardware by equipping the centre with recent computing software, and implementing new treatments, such as IMRT (conformational radiotherapy with intensity modulation) and VMAT (arc-volumetric modulated therapy). In addition, the immobilization equipment has been completely renewed for the greatest comfort of the patient and increased reproducibility.
In early 2020, for the first time in Oise, radiotherapy in stereotactic conditions was implemented at the centre. This evolution will allow patients to receive treatment close to their home and avoid having to travel to the Paris region or the Amiens hospital.
The Creil centre also collaborates with the other centres of the group. For scans, patients attend our centre in Compiègne, located only 35 minutes away. Brachytherapy treatments can be performed at the Amethyst centre in La Garenne-Colombes.
From diagnosis to the implementation of a treatment strategy, our therapeutic approach is multidisciplinary and adapted to each patient. Our radiotherapy oncologists participate in multidisciplinary meetings to decide effectively on each case. They pool their skills to make a diagnosis and agree on the best treatment options during the scientific council meetings.
